Entry Requirements
Language Requirement:
To access courses leading to QQI 6 programs (or equivalent) learners will require a good level of English, both oral and written. The minimum standard required for learners of whom English may not be their first language, or for those who have not completed primary or secondary education in English, is set at Level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language CEFRL.
Evidence of competence and certification to this standard can also be demonstrated by means of the following assessments:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – Minimum overall band score of 5.5
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – High Intermediate level required on 4 skills.0

IT Requirements
Learners must have basic IT skills . They should have experience using email, Word, and PowerPoint along with Zoom and the use of associated audio and video. Learners should endeavor to trial zoom prior to course commencement.

Unit 1 Legislative requirements for manual handling and health benefit
Unit 2 Anatomy and back care
Unit 3 Ergonomic principles and manual handling risk assessment
Unit 4 Manual handling principles and techniques
Unit 5 Planning and design of manual handling training courses
Unit 6 Delivery of manual handling training courses
Method of Training
This course is a combination of 3 days of interactive instructor led training through Zoom and two days classroom based.
Support
Certification and Assessment
Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a QQI Level 6 Certificate in Manual Handling Instruction. It is a requirement to have this certificate to deliver manual handling training in Ireland
To be successful delegates must pass
Written Assessment (20%)
Skills Demonstration (60%)
Assignment (20%)
Candidates are advised that this course involves the preparation of a practical presentation and assignment. Skills demonstration and written examination are conducted face to face.

Successful Candidates on this programme can progress to the QQI Level 6 Certificate in People Handling Instruction. Recognition of prior learning is not available for this programme
